How would one go about styling a wig like this? It's puffy, it's spiky, and it's curly, and it's got to look fairly realistic (as realistic as green hair can, that is)

No hurry, but I hope to have that costume for next Sakura Con (next spring)

I lent my sword and costume collection, including beautiful green handmade cloaks, to the college drama team for a production of "much ado about nothing."

They cut arm holes in them to use them for robes.

[mood |excitedexcited]

I recently ordered two scarves through hisgrouchyness (who, contrary to his name would suggest, is a sweetheart). He set up this thread in hp_costuming on 16MAY04.

After I saw the thread, I e-mailed him and he immediately responded with price and shipping information. I had a money order sent to him the next day, and Joey e-mailed me when he got the money.

Lo and behlod, the postman comes to my door today with my scarves! I ordered one Ravenclaw book canon style (blue and bronze) and one movie canon style (blue and silver). The price was incredible (US$49 including shipping for BOTH scarves), the shipping was fast, and Joey is a pleasure to talk to.

And, of course, the scarves are *gorgeous*. I'll post the pics behind the cut. Forgive me for only posting 2 pics - I got them RIGHT before I had to leave for work, and had to save the pics to disc and upload them from here. I'll post more in my own LJ once I have the chance to take more pictures.

My lovely scarvesCollapse )

Joey's e-mail address is peepdragon@alltel.net, so if you're interested in getting a scarf, holla his way.

I'm going to make Ravenclaw robes for the Prisoner of Azkaban premier in June, but I'm a bit undecided as to which fabric I'm going to use for my robes.

I had a polyester blend that my skin HATED, but I figure with the blue liner, I'll be safe. It has a good weight and at US$5.99/yard, it's not that bad a deal.

However, summer in Texas is hot as hell, and I don't want to be sweating my magical ass of out there.

So, any suggestions on fabric? Price is flexible, but I was wondering if anybody had suggestions for material or even good patterns.

Thanks! - Slappy :-D

I made a Hobbit/Fellowship cloak a while ago, and my youth group leader (of all people) was uber-impressed with it and said she would pay me to make one for her. How much should I charge her?
